6 B4 d4 N5 m& d) n* y" YThe New Zealand Embassy in Beijing is looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team as policy adviser/interpreter in the trade & economic team. The focus of this position is on supporting New Zealand’s trade and economic relationship with China.

Key tasks:% N! U1 Q& j5 y% R7 b
• Undertake research and analysis.
% V& m4 b9 U5 ~9 a( s • Provide policy advice and reporting on trade/economic developments in China.
- R k; m" \8 Y7 V • Build up a network of contacts in relevant Chinese agencies and institutions.0 @% `* U# Y5 d5 w5 n( h4 S
• Assist with arranging visit programmes and meetings for New Zealand ministers and officials.7 `. c' a, h4 Z5 f& y% ^
• Provide accurate interpretation (Chinese/English and English/Chinese) at official meetings.

) K8 o8 z7 H3 `8 p ^ A • High degree of oral and written proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English.+ J. O, t# b4 p$ V
• Translation and interpretation skills.# Q- Z4 R; e" C
• Relevant tertiary qualification
3 P- |# M& n0 [6 F. v; y4 e • Research and analytical skills.
8 G. [# l! Z5 R2 p& z • Well organised, able to manage a large workload. 6 D4 G" l6 t8 |3 _8 Y
• Strong initiative, a problem solving mentality, and ability to work independently on tasks.

• Developed computer skills (particularly MS Office, internet research capability).
