我非常高兴今天能够获得这个奖项，站在这个领奖台上，我感到非常荣幸，非常激动。在43年前攀登珠峰时，我把我的睡袋让给了我的队友，导致我冻掉了双脚。在之后43年的攀登过程中，我遭遇了很多意外的打击，比如暴风雪、冰崩、雪崩、地震等等，我一直都在坚持，后来我又得了癌症和血栓，但我仍然没有放弃，我一直都在坚持。非常感谢劳伦斯世界体育奖，以及所有的朋友对我的支持和帮助。此外，我非常感谢珠峰，在去年我69岁第五次攀登珠峰的时候，终于它接纳了我，使我成功登顶珠峰。
