I am Mark Schneider, CEO of Nestlé. It’s my great pleasure to return to China and join the China Development Forum again. I am honored to have the opportunity to share my views and our experiences through CDF Voice.
我是雀巢集团首席执行官马克•施奈德。非常高兴再次来到中国参加中国发展高层论坛。我也很荣幸有机会通过CDF之声与诸位分享我的观点以及我们的经历。
As the world’s largest food and beverage company, Nestlé has more than 2,000 brands in 186 countries worldwide. Zone Greater China is one of the five zones in the Nestlé Group. It’s one of the fastest-moving food and beverage markets in the world. 2022 was an extremely challenging year for the global economic environment. However, we remain confident in our brands, strong execution, and category dynamics for future growth.
作为全球最大的食品饮料公司，雀巢的产品在全球186 个国家均有销售，拥有超过 2000 个品牌。大中华大区是雀巢集团五个大区之一，也是全球发展最快的食品饮料市场之一。刚刚过去的2022年是对于全球经济环境颇具挑战的一年。但是我们仍旧抱有信心，我们的品牌实力、运营执行力和基础品类调整将推动我们的未来发展。
In this turbulent environment, we are committed to keeping our products affordable and accessible. We also continue to act to make a positive contribution to society – for example, since 2020, we’ve donated over 300 million yuan of products in China.
在这个动荡的环境之下，我们旨在保持我们产品的可负担性和可获得性。我们同样用实际行动为社会带来积极贡献——例如，自2020年以来，集团在华累计捐赠价值超过3亿元人民币的物资。
2023 is an important year for us in China. It marks the 36th anniversary of Nestlé’s entry into the Chinese market. As one of the first multinational companies entering China since the 1980s, Nestlé has continued to engage and invest in the country. We are committed for the long-term. We aim to contribute to a robust Chinese economy while the country sets sights on a higher-level open market. In the past three years, we’ve invested an additional 1.4 billion yuan in China.
2023年对于我们在华发展至关重要，也是雀巢进入中国第36周年。作为改革开放后首批来华投资的跨国企业，雀巢一致持续不断的深耕和投资中国市场，致力于在华长期发展。在中国着眼于更高水平对外开放的背景之下，我们希望为强劲的中国经济做出贡献。过去三年来，我们在华新增投资超过人民币14亿元。
The 20th CPC National Congress embarks on a new journey of Chinese-Style Modernization. In this context, we appreciate China's continued emphasis on creating a level playing field for all businesses, as well as a market open to the most advanced and innovative products.
二十大开启了“中国式现代化”的新征程。我们非常感激，中国持续深化打造对所有企业公平竞争的市场，以及对最先进、创新的产品开放的市场。
We are deeply committed to playing our part in this journey through high quality development in China, especially through innovation and sustainability. We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with the China Development Research Foundation on topics like food-grade recycled plastics, regenerative agriculture, and more.
在这个新征程上，我们将致力于通过在中国的高质量发展，尤其是在创新和可持续发展领域的不断探索，贡献我们的力量。我们也很高兴有机会携手中国发展研究基金会，在食品级再生塑料、再生农业等前沿课题方面开展研究。
Ladies and gentlemen, as an old Chinese saying goes, “Nothing, not even mountains and oceans, can separate people with shared goals and vision.” It’s truly exciting that this year we are crossing the mountains and oceans to meet again at the China Development Forum.
女士们、先生们，中国古语有云，志合者不以山海为远。的确非常激动，今年我们可以跨越山海，再次回到中国，相聚中国发展高层论坛！
I’d like to sincerely thank CDRF for successfully organizing the Forum. It is a unique platform that brings the public and private sectors together. My thanks also to all stakeholders in China for the consistent support to Nestlé over the past 36 years. We look forward to achieving even more together in the new era. I wish great success for the China Development Forum 2023! Thank you!
