Child Safety Restraints in the Car Are Essential

目前，很多父母对于使用儿童安全座椅的必要性已经有了一些了解，但是仍有许多父母不习惯使用安全座椅，原因有以下几点：

These days many parents are aware about the need to use child safety restraints. But still, many parents choose not to use them due to the following misperceptions:

一、他们认为爸爸妈妈的怀抱很安全。可是事实是怎样的呢？如果意外来临，碰撞发生时，假如汽车的时速达到50公里，一个5公斤的婴儿一秒内瞬间变成100公斤，这时候没有任何怀抱能提供保护。

Misperception 1: A parent’s arms are safe enough for children. But is that true? During a car crash, when traveling at 50 km/h, the weight of 5kg-baby will increase into 100 kg on impact. No one’s arms can provide enough protection under such circumstances.

二、父母觉得距离很近，一会儿就到目的地了，用不着安全座椅。但调查结果显示，三分之二的事故发生在离家15公里的路上，所以短距离出行也需要使用安全座椅哦。

Misperception 2: There is no need to use child safety restraints because we are going somewhere nearby. According to the research, 2/3 of all traffic crashes occur within 15 km of the start point. Using child safety restraints is necessary - even if the ride is only a few minutes.

三、孩子不喜欢安全座椅，一坐上去就哭闹。对于这个问题，应该从宝宝一出生就培养他对安全座椅的感情。

Misperception 3: Children don’t like child safety restraints and cry when they sit in them. Children should start using child safety restraints from birth so that they will get used to them before they realize it!

四、孩子长高了，可以使用安全带了。可是安全带是基于成年人的身高和体型所设计的，所以只有对于身高达到1米45的成年人来说时，安全带才能跨过肩部和胯部，从而提供保护。不当使用安全带会导致孩子腹部或脊椎等部分严重受伤。

Misperception 4: My child has grown taller and can use seat belts now. Seat belts are designed for the height and weight of adults. Seat belt can only provide protection to people who are taller than 1.45m when it can be worn right across the shoulders and over the hips. Improper use of seat belts can lead to severe abdominal or spinal injuries during a crash.

我们在为孩子选择安全座椅时，就像为孩子选择衣服一样，需要根据身形选择合适的座椅。一定要选择3C认证产品。大量研究和实践证明，正确使用儿童约束装置是最有效的保护儿童安全的措施，可将婴儿和幼儿在道路事故死亡的可能性降低百分之五十至八十。使用安全座椅不是一道选择题，孩子的安全是我们的责任！

When choosing child safe restraints for children, we need to choose the right system based on the child’s size, just like when you dress them. And please make sure to choose products that are 3C certified. A large number of studies show that the correct use of child safety restraints are the most effective means to protect infants and young children in a car and can reduce the possibility of death during car crashes by 50%-80%. Use of child safety restraints is not a question of choice - it is our responsibility.
