3月31日，“2019中国—新西兰旅游年”开幕仪式在位于新西兰首都惠灵顿的蒂帕帕国家博物馆（Te Papa Tongarewa）举行，新西兰旅游部长凯尔文·戴维斯（Kelvin Davis）主持开幕式，中国文化和旅游部部长作为特别嘉宾出席。中新两国总理分别向开幕式发来贺词。

你好，Kia ora，大家好！
2019 is a really special year for lots of reasons but one is that it's the China-New Zealand Year of Tourism, a year for China and New Zealand to celebrate our friendship and to strengthen our already deep ties.
2019年是很特别的一年。这其中有很多的原因，其中之一就是今年是中新旅游年。中国和新西兰两国将借此机会，庆祝我们的友谊，加强我们强劲的关系。
The Year of Tourism is an opportunity to showcase to China what makes Aotearoa a world-class destination. Stunning natural landscapes, unique experiences and products in Manaaki Tangata our warm and friendly Kiwi welcome.
旅游年是一个好机会，来向中国展示新西兰为何是世界级旅游目的地。这里有绝美的自然风光，独特的旅行体验和产品，热情好客的新西兰人民。
Our Chinese visitors loved the same thing as many Kiwis do, to get outdoors and experience our wildlife and explore our native bush and our beaches.
中国访客和新西兰人有相同的喜好，喜欢到户外去，体验野生环境，探寻原生态丛林，漫步海边。
The Year of Tourism is not all one-way. Tourism is a driver of economic growth and cultural understanding for both our countries and it is an important string in the New Zealand-China relationship.
旅游年不只是单向的。通过旅游可以促进经济发展，让两国人民更好的了解彼此。旅游年也是新中关系发展的重要一环。
Like many Kiwis, I have been to China several times and was blown away by China's richness and diversity and I do look forward to visiting again.
和许多新西兰人一样，我本人曾经多次到访中国，并为中国丰富多元的文化所震撼。我期待再次前往中国。
I encourage Chinese and Kiwis alike to use the 2019 China-New Zealand Year of Tourism to celebrate our friendship and through it to deepen the already strong ties that exist between our countries.
我鼓励两国人民，借2019年中新旅游年之机，庆祝我们的友谊，进一步加深两国间强劲的关系。
