Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear friends,
今天是大年三十。在这个阖家团圆的美好时节，中国驻美国使馆很高兴与大家在云端相聚，共迎新春、共话未来。
Today is Chinese New Year's Eve - a time for reunion, blessing and celebration. It is a great pleasure for me and the Chinese Embassy in the United States to celebrate this festive moment with you online.
再过几小时，辛丑牛年的钟声即将敲响。中国传统文化中，牛是坚毅、奋斗和奉献的象征。新年伊始，希望大家发扬牛的精神和美德，为两国人民和世界人民的美好未来共同努力。
In a few hours, we will ring in the Year of the Ox. In the Chinese culture, ox symbolizes stamina, energy and dedication. Standing at the beginning of a new year, I hope that we will show the spirit of the ox and work together for a better shared future, for the Chinese and American people and people of the whole world.
第一，愿牛转乾坤、战胜疫情。
First, let's defeat COVID-19 with the stamina of the ox.
第二，愿牛势冲天、百业兴旺。
Second, let's bring about post-pandemic recovery and growth with the energy of the ox.
第三，愿牛起奋蹄、砥砺前行。
Third, let's pool our strength and wisdom for a better future with the dedication of the ox.
在中国的十二生肖中，牛是吉祥如意的象征。此时此刻，我再次向在美中国同胞和所有美国友人表示诚挚的问候！祝你们牛年吉祥如意、幸福安康！
In the Chinese zodiac, ox is a most auspicious and prosperous animal sign. I would like to again express best regards to my fellow compatriots in the United States and all my American friends. I wish you a healthy, joyous and prosperous Year of the Ox.
