" e2 }; Z4 i( y: X- kThe New Zealand Embassy in Beijing is looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team as policy adviser/interpreter in the trade & economic team. The focus of this position is on supporting New Zealand’s trade and economic relationship with China. 1 a* F3 _+ D6 t) y

• Undertake research and analysis.
) Y, v+ u7 M, Y$ H • Provide policy advice and reporting on trade/economic developments in China.
7 |, k# |( W1 `! T9 S • Build up a network of contacts in relevant Chinese agencies and institutions.8 p" j3 h0 r. R. j4 O6 f. v
• Assist with arranging visit programmes and meetings for New Zealand ministers and officials.) D/ R+ E& R4 ]5 n9 l( G2 X
• Provide accurate interpretation (Chinese/English and English/Chinese) at official meetings.

• High degree of oral and written proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English.- @" C/ }1 B) @3 t) H
• Translation and interpretation skills.; e, W+ o1 f1 J; K
• Relevant tertiary qualification
* _* b1 w0 _+ P! |, l • Research and analytical skills.
, L0 E, Q1 r) V S • Well organised, able to manage a large workload.

• Flexibility and adaptability.

• Familiarity with the working environment in China, including government systems.
& p9 a' C, [7 D g! M: A • Developed computer skills (particularly MS Office, internet research capability).
