Of the 35 world heritage sites in China, 25 are cultural sites: the Great Wall, the Imperial Palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Mogao Caves, the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor with the Terracotta Warriors, the Peking Man Site, the Mountain Resort in Chengde City and Outlying Temples, the Temple and Cemetery of Confucius and the Kong Family Mansion, the Ancient Building Complex in the Wudang Mountains, the Potala Palace, the Ancient City of Pingyao, the Classical Gardens in Suzhou, the Old City of Lijiang, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven, the Dazu Rock Carvings, Mount Qingcheng and the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Ancient Villages in Southern Anhui -- Xidi and Hongcun, Longmen Grottoes, the Lushan National Park, Yungang Grottoes, Imperial Tombs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Capital Cities and Tombs of the Ancient Koguryo Kingdom, the Historical Center of Macao, Anyang Yin Ruins, Kaiping Diaolou and Villages.
自然遗产部分6项：武陵源、九寨沟、黄龙、云南三江并流、四川大熊猫栖息地、中国南方喀斯特。
Six of the world heritage sites in China are natural sites: the Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area, the Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area, the Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area, Yunnan Three Rivers Scenic Area, Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries, and South China Karst.
文化与自然双重遗产4项：泰山、黄山、峨眉山-乐山大佛、武夷山。
