% z$ F$ K) `' L! ^# H6 EThe New Zealand Embassy in Beijing is looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team as policy adviser/interpreter in the trade & economic team. The focus of this position is on supporting New Zealand’s trade and economic relationship with China. 6 \% ^4 [) ]! Z f( t7 `( f0 r

Key tasks: 7 ~/ Z$ L$ K+ ` • Undertake research and analysis.2 w2 Y6 G; b) c3 p) s6 v
• Provide policy advice and reporting on trade/economic developments in China. : w$ g( I; Y4 P$ n+ {# S • Build up a network of contacts in relevant Chinese agencies and institutions. . ^' z* E$ j& s0 \: Q5 m • Assist with arranging visit programmes and meetings for New Zealand ministers and officials.* R0 X5 j! o6 R* m: |+ K
• Provide accurate interpretation (Chinese/English and English/Chinese) at official meetings.9 X' z# D, |+ A5 j

The Embassy is looking for the following skills and capabilities: 0 x* S6 {1 H" a! e- W • High degree of oral and written proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English. $ m- O5 U n# r • Translation and interpretation skills. , W5 s4 y6 D; s' l, ^ • Relevant tertiary qualification$ F, T8 S4 C" f1 {& Z. } A0 u3 V
• Research and analytical skills.1 ? [. V% e6 W) F; i! j8 `
• Well organised, able to manage a large workload. % O' A: n- e7 d
