英国首相鲍里斯·约翰逊向东京残奥会英国运动员致辞
2021年8月24日
It’s been a long time coming, but the Tokyo Paralympic Games are finally upon us. So on behalf of the whole country, I want to wish our brilliant Paralympians the very best of luck.
期待已久的东京残奥会终于来了。我谨代表全体英国人民,祝愿我们优秀的残奥会运动员好运。
Those of us who witnessed the 2012 Games will never cease to be amazed by the feats that unfolded before our eyes in London. And tens of millions of us will be up late every night for the next two weeks, willing you on to do more of the same.
And we’ll be joined by huge numbers of kids with a disability and without who will look on you in Tokyo and think, I want to be an athlete, too. In the evening, they’ll watch your exploits on the other side of the world. And in the morning, they’ll pick up a ball, wheel onto a track, climb onto a bike and set off on a sporting journey all their own.
